Module/WebApps - List and Detail view slugs to match

Currently we need to create a different url for blog list page, as we need to create a page and output list on it. This should work differently. It should be like BC - where blog url outputs list without an additional url, or page needing to be created.

Looks like this issue has been highlighted for a while. Do you have a timeframe you are able to pass along? I have a client very worried about SEO impacts of not having this capability.

Andrew Bunka: Hi Andrew, there's no immediate plans to implement this change, but it is one that's on our minds. It will likely be done this year.

Hi Andrew Bunka: There should be no SEO impact in having it setup this way and very little impact when moving from BC if it was dealt with at the time.
If a site has moved from Adobe BC, then the most efficient method would be to change the main page URL where they are all listed. Then each item remains the same, so you have very little change.
The ability to use the same URL for both list view page and detail view URL was only available on certain modules on BC and so there will be limited areas which should have been looked into at the time of migration.
Adding the capability for this is on our roadmap for the future, so it is something we will be looking at later down the line, but it isn't a priority at the moment as all the BC sites have already been migrated.

Agreed. The way it's currently working is illogical & bad for seo.
I should think it would be easy enough to update the core so the slug for modules (inc. (/blog)) And webapps load the default list layout.
Matt Walter
Casey Jeppesen: Yep. The trouble is then some use-cases will want a different layout, or some wrapper content, or XYZ, so we need to consider how to make this work for everyone rather than just a single use-case.

Al Marks had also voted on a similar Feature Request which I've now merged into this one.
This request should also involve WebApp Detail Pages- to take into account his request.

100% Agree, otherwise there will be hundreds of redirects we will need to set up 😥
